Shipping and Returns

Live Upon Arrival Guarantee

Here at Private Reef we offer live upon arrival guarantee, all Claims for losses must be reported on the same day of delivery. Shipping is fulfilled through FEDEX Next Day Air. 
 

We do not guarantee losses after delivery day.

Return Policy For Live order

Private Reef does not allow the return of any Fish, Coral, or Plants. The process of packaging and shipping aquatic life is a very difficult

and sensitive procedure. Please choose your order carefully.

Return Policy For Product

 

You decided to cancel your order: If the order hasn't been shipped out yet, we can cancel the order and issue you a refund with no penalty. If you do not cancel the order until after it has already been shipped, then we will take a 15% restocking fee and refund your money after we’ve received the product back.


 

You've received the product but you've decided you want to return it: If you receive an item and decide to return it, you can do so if and only if all of the following requirements are met:

  1. The item must be unopened, unused, and still in the original packaging.

  2. You must contact us to notify us that you'd like to return the item within 30 calendar days of receiving the item.

  3. You MUST contact us to get return instructions prior to returning the item.

If you return an item without all three of the above requirements being met, the item will be refused and come back to you and no refund will be issued. If you meet all three of the above requirements, your refund will be issued in one of the following two manners:

  1. You can receive the full amount you originally paid for the returned item (less our actual cost for shipping and handling) as a store credit, OR

  2. You can get a cash refund for the amount you originally paid via your original method of payment LESS a 15% restocking fee and our actual cost for shipping and handling.

In either case, you are responsible for return shipping charges to return the product to us.

Shipment processing time

All orders for supplies and food are processed within 2-3 business days or depending on the demand. 

 

Shipments and deliveries occur on weekends. If Private Reef gets a high volume of orders please expect some delays in orders. Check your email frequently for updated messages of your package. 

 

Shipment confirmation and order tracking

 

Your confirmation email will come into your email within minutes of a transaction. It will include a confirmation number 

 

Important Information 

 

Please make sure your address is current, complete and correct. If you provide an incorrect address we will be unable to deliver your package.

 

We can not guarantee that the address that you enter on your order form will be validated by the Fedex or ups. If our e-commerce grade software can not validate your address we make an attempt to contact you. If we do not hear back from you in 7 calendar days, we will cancel the order and email you a cancel confirmation number.

If a single warehouse can't fill your order, it may arrive in multiple shipments at no additional shipping charge to you. As items are shipped, we will send you emails detailing the shipments and tracking numbers.

Protect Your Reef

In order to protect your shipment, track your order with the tracking number and be at the specified location upon arrival and sign for your delivery.

Shipping your order to your nearby shipping location may be a more suitable option if there is unfavorable weather in your area.
